Cage/Arena Plans
The Polo Training Foundation provides hitting cage plans to facilitate training programs. There is a $29 fee to cover the cost of printing and mailing within North America. Both plans are included. There are two basic cage designs available, The Mack-Linfoot Cage and the University of Virginia model.
The Mack-Linfoot cage has ball returns built into the sloped part of the floor, so that the ball always returns to the same spot. The Viginia cage simply has a sloped floor so the return of the ball is based upon where the hitter hits the ball. If you have any questions about the cages feel free to call Danny Scheraga at the PTF office. 888-PTF-POLO (783-7656).
The PTF will fund half the cost up to $3,000.00 to build a limited number of hitting cages annually at USPA® member clubs. Prior approval must be granted and the PTF must receive a photograph of the finished cage bearing a plaque stating that the Polo Training Foundation provided partial funding for this cage.
Arena Plans and a consultation from designer Dan Colhoun are available from the PTF for $500.
